Mr. Alano joined AHL in 1997 and was promoted to Principal in 2010. His 27 years as a project architect includes justice facilities, institutional, retail, educational, and hospitality projects.

He has a wide range of experience in large, complex and technically challenging projects, including Marriott;s Ko Olina Beach Club, three major military projects at Schofield Barracks on Oahu, the Kapolei Regional Police Station, the Pearl City Bus Facility, Safeway Stores, University of Hawaii Hawaii Hall Restoration, and renovations at Sheraton Kauai.

He is a participating member of the AIA Visioning Design Assistance team (Vdat) for East Honolulu, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Hawaii School of Architecture. Mr. Alano received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and is licensed in Hawaii and California.
