Joseph Farrell

Mr. Farrell joined AHL in 1961, and has designed more than 180 projects. His awards and honors include the Governor of Hawaii’s Architectural Arts Award, which recognizes architects who have produced projects that define “Hawaiian Architecture.”
He received the University of Hawaii’s prestigious Ossipoff Design Excellence Award for a Hawaii architect who has created many inspirational projects in Hawaii. His work spans from Florida, Kentucky, Germany, Hawaii, Pohnpei, Palau to Saipan. Mr. Farrell’s significant award-winning projects include the Turtle Bay Resort Renovation, Prince Kuhio Federal Office Building, Keelikolani State Office Building, Pacific Guardian Center, American Savings Bank Tower, and the Bishop Square Master Plan.
He is an adjunct professor at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa School of Architecture, a board member of NAIOP Hawaii, and has served as president of the AIA Hawaii chapter. Mr. Farrell received a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Florida and is licensed in Hawaii and Saipan.
