Mr. Brizee joined AHL in 1995 as a project architect and manager, and was promoted to Principal in 2004 and CEO in 2010. His 37 years of experience in all phases of architecture includes a broad range of projects including residential, multifamily, commercial, retail, healthcare, and industrial projects.

Mr. Brizee has distinguished himself as a leader in the area of building codes and life safety. He is a member of the State building Code Council representing the AIA. He was the chairman of the AIA Honolulu Building Codes Committee from 1997 to 2008. In 2004 he led a series of seminars for the AIA on the 2000 International Building Code. Additionally, Mr. Brizee continues to be involved in conducting AIA seminars and teaching code requirements at the University of Hawai‘i, and holds memberships with the International Code Council and the National Fire Protection Association.

Mr. Brizee also holds memberships with numerous professional organizations including the American Institute of Architects, where he was past board member and secretary; Construction Specifications Institute, where he holds certification for Construction Documents Technologist and Certified Construction Contractor Administrator; International Council of Shopping Centers Alliance Committee; Retail Merchants of Hawaii; Urban Land Institute, and he is a friend of the Institute of Real Estate Managers.

Mr. Brizee also serves as a board member for the Waikiki Improvement Association and is chair on the WSD Update Committee. He also is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and Boy Scouts of America.

He received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona, and is licensed in Hawaii and Arizona.
