Pomaika’i Elementary School

Designed to accommodate 650 students, Pomaika’i Elementary School includes 42 classrooms, an administrative center, library/media center, multipurpose cafetorium with kitchen facility center, computer resource center, custodian service center, and support spaces.
The Library/Media Center includes an office, book stacks, reading areas, computer stations, a computer resource center (learning center), student conference, and video production room.
Each classroom building contains a central space that can be used by students as an indoor/outdoor learning area. This two-story space, with a central skylight, is naturally ventilated, and the air volume and speed can be adjusted to meet occupant needs.
In addition, the site includes parking for 120 cars, separate areas for bus and auto loading/unloading, grassed play areas for kindergarten and grades 1 through 5, paved play courts, apparatus play areas, and separate service areas.
