AHL Recognized as “Hot Firm”

November 30, 2010

Honolulu, Hawai‘i – Architects Hawaii Ltd. (AHL) continues to gain national recognition despite the state’s challenging economic climate. For the second time in four years, the Honolulu firm has been included on the Zweig Letter’s Hot Firm List.

AHL is ranked 147th among the country’s 150 fastest-growing U.S. architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms. In 2007, when ZweigWhite selected 200 firms, AHL was 173rd.

In recent months, the state’s largest architectural firm also was ranked No. 92 on Architectural Record’s annual Top 250 Architecture Firms; No. 48 on Engineering News Record’s annual Top 100 Green Design Firms, and No. 354 on Engineering News•Record’s annual Top 500 Design Firms.

Bettina Mehnert, AIA, LEED®-AP, chief operating officer of AHL, received the latest award during The Zweig Letter Hot Firm 2010 Conference last month in Washington, D.C.

“We feel very fortunate to be recognized as an industry leader and one of the design and environmental firms that has outperformed the economy.” said Mehnert. “Our staff continues to be amazing and constantly growing in creativity and knowledge.”

Over the years, the “Hot Firm” designation has become synonymous with success in the industry. The Zweig Letter Hot Firm List recognizes small and large firms for their successes. Firms are compared by change in revenue and earnings over the trailing three years in terms of real dollars and percentage change.
