Schofield Barracks, Whole Barracks Renewal, Phase 3A, Quad C
Renovation is something AHL does well. But adding anti-terrorism/force protection and structural, seismic and physical security requirements to a National Register of Historic Places site lends a whole new dimension. The barracks at Schofield, originally open sleeping and living spaces, were built in 1900 in the art deco and Spanish mission revival architecture style. It was quite the mission to make these structures useable and able to survive another century. Our design-build approach allowed early and continual interaction between design and construction that gave the flexibility to resolve the inevitable conflicting requirement issues as they arose.
