Waikoloa Beach Marriott & Outrigger Resort
With low dark public spaces and lackluster views, this 1980 Kohala Coast hotel needed opening up to bring it to the four-star status Outrigger Hotels & Resorts wanted. Light, space and an affinity for the views and culture sparked the makeover. Architectural motifs and interior design reflect the site’s location, which is framed by ancient Hawaiian settlements and fishponds.
